Horton for Christmas

Sorry for the lack of posts but due to computer issues I have not been able to update at all. Anyway Horton went to his new home for Christmas and to a little girl who all she wanted for Christmas was him. I think that that is the perfect person for a very special bunny. Due to family commitments over the next month I am not going to get a new bunny until February as I don't think it would be fair to them. So until then I hope that you have a great New year.

Happy New Year and hope that 2010 is a wonderful year for you.

Running Wild.

Horton has had a nice week even though the weather has not been great since his last trip out side and he got to have a little run around the lounge. He did very well considering my little chap want to keep petting him and so ended up wanting to be everywhere Horton was. Horton was a champ and tolerated him for a while and then let me know he had had enough by staying far away from my son as possible at which point I returned him to his cage. We have had some cuddles which have all been great. I hope soon to give him a nice long run out over the weekend on evening and hopefully get some pictures and maybe some video.

Horton Hears a Who?

Ok so this Horton hasn't heard any Who's as far as I know but he is totally adorable. This little guy is already adopted. He is a two year old Lionhead rabbit. I have to say it is a good idea that he has a home to go to next month as I think I could be tempted with this little one. Horton is wonderful. he has been great to catch from his cage and also in the run in the garden. He is great with my little boy also, allowing him to stroke him. I truly cannot say enough great things about this bunny.

Updates

I am afraid I have not posted for a while due to the fact that I have no rabbits. Sad I know but Penny and Jenny went off for a trip to have a little op and also meet some people who might want to adopt a pair of bunnies. Also I have found out that Pepsi and Cola are still up for adoption as the people interested decided to take another pair. So please consider them for adoption. The rescue is running an Spa day this coming Saturday so please check out the website for more info. Treat your bunny to a little love and maybe even take another one home.

Hop, Hop!

This evening whilst watching TV, Jenny and Penny had an adventure. First we had a cuddle together on my lap and then I put them one the floor. After they had recovered from what I will call shock, i.e they just didn't move they then starting running around the floor having a great time. My cat Amelia came to have a look at them. Jenny hopped right on over to say Hi and Amelia looked as though she didn't know whether to flea for her life or not. However they just stared at each other and then Jenny hopped back off. Both Penny and Jenny had a great time running around and did sometimes run up to me to say Hi before dashing off again. It was great watching them have some fun. Jenny seems to be ok with being stroke while out and about however Penny is a little more nervous. She wasn't too much trouble but she does seem to get startled a little more than jenny does. All in all I think it was a great time had by all.

Today my little girls had a nail trim. Penny especially had really long nails. It is thought that these little girls had been left outside in a wire bottomed cage never really being taken out and never having had anything taken cared for. Penny's nails have bent out sidewards and also have gotten so over grown. It must have been so uncomfortable for her to do anything. Now with nails trimmed their should be no limits. Tonight we had cuddles and it was wonderful, they seem to like them a lot. Also they eat loads of hay but seem less interested into the pellets. They have had a nibble at a carrot though. I would say people who are looking for a couple of cuddle bunnies then these are the ones for you.

Video

This is a little video of Penny and Jenny having a little hop around outside.

I hope that you enjoy these two little cuties. That is my little boy in the background cheering them on. Both rabbit have been great with letting him stroke them.

Out and About.

Today while me and my little guy where about in the garden I decided to also get the bunnies out and put them in the run. So out they came and I have to say they looked like they had fun running this way and that. I think that I will have to try and trim their nails as they are looking long. Penny seems to a little more fearful when it comes to being picked up than Jenny but once you have a hold of either one of them then they will sit very nicely on your lap for a cuddle.

Penny and Jenny.

As many say it is out with the old and in with the new. And although I would never call Pepsi and Cola as old and something to get rid of, there departure has meant that I have a new arrival. So I would like to introduce you to my two new bunnies. It is believed that they are girls hence the names.

First off here is Penny.

She is a brown (penny colour) dwarf bunny and very cute. We had a quick cuddle upon arrival. She is malting out, which is what the dark mark is in her back. Soon she will be all the same colour all over. She is as yet not fixed but should be in a couple of weeks when she shall then be up for adoption with her bonded mate.

That brings me on to Jenny.

She is white with the cutest chocolate brown ears. Jenny is also a dwarf bunny, cuddles have also occurred and she is very sweet. She is also waiting to be fixed. So in a couple of weeks they will be ready for a new home.

These little girls are a bonded pair and so will be looking for a home together.

Until that point this cute bunnies are all mine to love and cuddle. I have left them to settle in and can't wait to have cuddles and fun with them over then next couple of weeks. I am sure my little boy is going to love them.

Home Sweet Home!

I am sad yet glad to say that it appears that Pepsi and Cola have gone onto better lives with another home hopefully. Things are not 100% as of yet but a family have seen them and appear to have fallen for them, as lets face it who could not. This means however that since they should move soon they have already left me. I did however manage to get some pictures of my two little guys today before they left. I will miss them but so glad that they now have a family to love them and play with them.

Running free!

I am afraid no picture this time. But the pair of them are still having great fun. I had them out the other day while my son was playing and they had great fun running around the toys and up to my son who would give them a stroke before they dash off again. I also had a nice cuddle with the both of them. I am really hoping that they get a new home soon as they would give someone great joy.

All good!

The boys seem to have fully recovered from their little operation the other week and have been running around everywhere. I have let them out in the playroom and it has been great fun to see them dash around the room like they are being chased. I have also had some very nice cuddles with them over the last couple of days. So all is good.

It's a Boy!

The debate is finally over they are both boys! The vet confirmed it as they went for a visit to have a little op. This does mean however that my boys are now up for adoption. I can't say enough great things about these bunnies. I have often had then out while my son is playing and then will run up to him and have a sniff before dashing off again. Being 17 months old my little guy is not the gentlest but they take it in their stride. They are also very willing to have a cuddle while you hold them with a little lick every now and again.

I hope that they will get a home quickly as they are a true delight. This picture is of them recovering after the vet today. They had tough day but a carrot was waiting along with a clean cage full of great hay.

Video

This little video was taken a couple of days ago. I let them out in my son's playroom and they had a great time running through the toys and jumping around.

Bigger by the day!

The bunnies are getting bigger all the time. I find it hard to remember how tiny they were when they arrived. Cola is still the smaller of the two but with the bigger and braver personality. She is the one wearing the trousers between the two that is for sure. We had some friends over yesterday and they brought with them some kids and I have to say that the bunnies did really well with all the noise and everything. Pepsi as usual was the more timid of the two but quickly settled down for some cuddles. Cola wanted to be here and there and everywhere. It is great fun watching them run around when I let them out as both are used to their surroundings and so now there is no stopping them in their running around. Pepsi still however wants a cuddle and a lick at the end of it all.

Growing!

The bunnies seem to be getting bigger by the day. Due to a mad weekend they have not had as much time out but they have still had time to have a run in the garden and also the playroom. There were out while we played ball and seemed un-phased by the shrieks that came from my little guy. They still view my little one with suspicion but yet still run up for a sniff or a lick so they show no fear. They seem to be taking to things well. Pepsi is the one that is more shy but yet loves to give more love where as Cola is off and out without any worries.

Outside in the Sun!

They were having a run about inside and my cat Amelia came over to see what was happening. Pepsi ran over to say Hi and see who it was. I don't think Amelia knew whether to say Hi or run for her life, so she sat and stared!

This is pictures from when they were out and about in the garden for the first time. The took a little while to get used to it but in the end they loved running around and having a bit of grass to nibble.

New video!

This is them having a little run about! They had a total blast jumping and hopping about! I have also let them run more free in the play room and they both love exploring all my little guys toys and running and jumping as well as coming up for some loving every now and again. Even Cola has taken to licking!

Off out and about!

Pepsi and Cola seem to just keep growing. Pepsi although is still more of the love bug is getting a lot more adventurous and Cola is still off out and about running this way and that. Today I set up the pen outside and they had a nibble at some grass and felt the small breeze in their fur. Both seemed to enjoy it. Pepsi ended up staying out the longest as Cola after running round like to rest in the box. It was great to see the two of them exploring and enjoying life.

This afternoon my 15 month old was in his playroom and they were also running about having a blast exploring his toys and also him. He loved watching them run and jump. he didn't seem to bother either of them at all so I think they would do well in a family with kids as long as they were supervised. Pepsi still loves licking and is always wanting attention. I hope these guys carry on living together well as they are a great pair of bunnies. Both now don't jump or run at noises or you walking into the room they just look at you as if to say Hi do I get to some out now and have some love??

Video

Just a little video so that you can see my little bunnies having a run around. They love running and jumping about! I do have a feeling that both Pepsi and Cola are girls but still not wanting to bet on it just yet! This was taken last week I will try and get recent photos and video up tomorrow.

Getting brave!

Pepsi and Cola are starting to not dash into their house as soon as you come up to their cage. They have had great fun with cuddles and also having a run around the lounge. Pepsi is getting more adventurous and Cola is getting more cuddly. I am still however unsure of what sex they are. I am pretty sure that Pepsi is a girl. I am sure however that we will soon know!

Photos

I thought I would add some new photos of my new babies. They have really been settling in. They aren't quite so jumpy about noises now as they get use to the sights and sounds.

This little guy (I think he could be a he) is Cola and is the more outgoing of the two. When out in the pen he spends lots of time running around and jumping. He does however love have a little cuddle too.

This little one is Pepsi (I think she maybe a she). Pepsi is slightly larger than Cola and seems a little more calm. We had a lovely cuddle and I also got a little groom too. She still had a little run around.

Fun was had by both tonight as they ran around, you could see them getting bolder by the second. I will try and see who is a he or a she over the weekend as I am not a 100% on either.

Two little babies!

Today starts the day of a new adventure for our family. Two new members arrived with long ears and twitching noses. I have started to foster rabbits and my first pair are two babies that are about 3-4 weeks old. They can be handled although I am not convinced that they are convinced it is a good idea. I hope however over the next few weeks that they will come better. They arrived namless and so I have decided to call them Pepsi and Cola. I will hopefully post pictures of them soon. My little boy loves them already as he sees their cage and starts grinning right away.
